HEAPS news

• We're getting bigger, HEAPS launches on Tuesday 17th November 2009 with a third cohort. Every year the programme gets bigger and better.

Cohort 1 - 100 sixth form students 

Cohort 2 - 165 sixth form students

Cohort 3 - 200 sixth form students

• HEAPS is on BBC local news! Tuesday saw BBC London reporting on the work HEAPS is doing.

Events for Year 12

Welcome to HEAPS!

• Social Mobilty Foundation organises excellent internships over the summer for year 12s in City, law and medicine. It is definitely worth applying if you got 6 As at GCSE (the minimum requirement). HURRY the deadline is November 30th. www.socialmobility.org.uk

• 28th January 11am - 3.30pm - The Greening of Road Transport Project, An Aerospace Perspective. This is an excellent and free opportunity for London's Gifted and Talented year 12s to work on an innovative project facilitated by leading academics in Engineering. This event will be delivered by Queen Mary, University of London. Interested? Email HEAPS for an application form, deadline 14th December

• HEAPS Oxford University Trip - Feburary 3rd or 4th 201. You will be told which day your school should attend this trip. You will have a chance to shadow an Oxford undergraduate and take lunch in one of the colleges. Email heaps@teachfirst.org.uk to say if you would like to go.
